Degenerator Rusted rhythms for post-apocalyptic hymnals
Degenerator is a collection of chaotic, contorted loops fashioned from battered rhythm boxes and quirky contraptions. Long a fan of unusual rhythms, I have called my considerable collection of high and low tech devices into duty to provide a selection of loops that sit well outside the commonplace. You won’t find any four-to-the-floor trance beats here. Instead, you’ll find palpitating percussion and bizarre beats specially designed for the adventurous experimenter. The emphasis here is on unusual rhythms, though there are a few PPG and Q-960-driven analog sequences that verge on the accessible as well.
Degenerator contains over 200 loops in .aif format, ranging from 100 BPM to 130 BPM. There's a total of around 150 MB of stuff, all royalty-free to use in your music.
Instruments used in the creation of Degenerator include:
Roland’s classic CR-78,
Korg Minipops,
Wersimatic WM-1,
TEG’s massive modular synthesizer from Synthesizers.com,
Symbolic Sound Corporation’s Kyma,
Moog Minimoog,
EMS VCS3,
PPG Wave 2.2,
Digidesign's Turbosynth,
U&I's Metasynth
...to name a few!
Degenerator can be purchased for a mere $15, USD via PayPal.
